Terms of use
Last updated 27 August 2026
Short, because there is not much to agree to: the client is free, the one thing sold is an optional subscription, and what is asked of you is to own the game and to behave on other people's servers.
The client is free
The jar you download is the entire client, and every module in it is switched on the first time you open the menu. Nothing about how the game plays is held back for a version that costs money: there is no paid tier of the client, and no module behind a payment.
Free also means there is no contract underneath it. Nobody here owes you support, a fix by a certain date, or a client that still exists next year. What you get is people who are usually in Discord and usually answer.
Paradox Plus, the one thing that costs money
Plus is an optional subscription on a Paradox account. It costs $4.99 for 30 days or $49.99 for 365 days, in US dollars. What it currently adds is cosmetic: the [+] prefix in front of your name, shown to friends and in guilds. A cosmetics wardrobe is planned and is included when it lands, at no extra cost.
Plus adds nothing to how the game plays. It does not unlock a module, change any behaviour in a world or on a server, or give any advantage over somebody who has not bought it.
It renews on its own until you cancel. A monthly plan is charged every month and a yearly plan every year, at the price above, until you stop it. Each charge adds its days to whatever is left rather than replacing them.
Cancelling is one button, on the Plus page, on the same screen that sells it. Cancelling stops the next charge and nothing else: the days you have already paid for stay until they run out, and until that day you can turn the renewal back on without buying again.
Delivery is immediate and entirely digital: once the payment is confirmed, the days are added to the account that started the purchase, normally within seconds. There is nothing to ship and nothing to download for it.
Paying, and who takes the card
Card payments are handled by Stripe on their own hosted page. Card numbers never reach this site or our servers — we are told that a payment succeeded, for which account and for which plan, and nothing else about the card.
Because it renews, Stripe keeps the card on file to charge it again. That arrangement is between you and Stripe; we hold an identifier for the subscription and nothing that could be used to pay with.
Where a card does not reach, Plus can be paid for by arrangement through Discord or Telegram, and the days are added by hand.
Prices are shown in US dollars and are what is charged. Your bank may convert and may add its own fee; that part is between you and them.
Refunds
Ask within 14 days of a purchase and it is refunded in full, without needing a reason. The days bought in that purchase are removed from the account at the same time — a refund and keeping the subscription are not both on offer.
Write to us on Discord or Telegram with the account name and roughly when you bought it. Refunds go back to the card that paid, through Stripe, and take as long as your bank takes — usually a few days.
After 14 days a purchase is not refundable, because by then the thing bought has been delivered and used. Three exceptions we will always honour: a payment you did not make, days that never arrived on the account, and a renewal charged after you cancelled.
If an account is closed for one of the reasons below, unused days are not refunded.
You need to own Minecraft
Paradox Client is a mod for Minecraft: Java Edition. It ships no game files of its own — the game is downloaded from Mojang's endpoints at install time, and signing in with Microsoft needs an account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition. The launcher asks Mojang, and refuses without one.
An offline profile starts the game for singleplayer, a LAN game or a server running in offline mode. No online-mode server will accept it, and it is not a way around owning the game.
Your use of Minecraft itself is between you, Mojang and Microsoft, under their terms. Nothing on this page changes those, and nothing we ship gives you rights to their software.
Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft
Paradox Client is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft. "Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang Studios, used here only to say what this client is for.
If you find any page, video or download claiming that Mojang or Microsoft approved this, it is not from us and it is wrong.
What you may do with the jar
Use it on as many machines as you like, for as long as you like, and pass on the file exactly as we published it. What is asked in return is small and specific: do not sell it, do not repackage it under another name, and do not hand out modified builds that still call themselves Paradox. A broken build wearing our name costs us the only thing this project has, which is that the download is known to be safe.
Every release is published through the same manifest the launcher reads, and the hash on the front page is the one from that manifest. If a file's hash does not match, it did not come from us — check before you run it.
Servers have their own rules
Modified clients are disallowed on some servers. Which client you may run where is the server's decision, not ours, and following its rules is yours. If a server bans you, that is between you and that server — we cannot appeal it, undo it or vouch for you, and an account here is no defence there.
What closes an account
A Paradox account exists for guilds and cloud settings. It can be closed, and the reasons are these:
- Cheating on servers that forbid it, or using the client to grief people.
- Harassment, threats, or using guilds and friend invitations to spam or bait strangers.
- Attacking the service: brute-forcing sign-ins, hammering the API, trying to reach other people's data, or impersonating staff.
- Handing out modified builds under our name, or selling access to something that is free.
Guild messages are end-to-end encrypted and we cannot read them, so we do not moderate what is said inside a guild — there is nothing there for us to look at. What we can act on is conduct visible at the account level and reports from the people involved.
A closed account loses its sessions immediately. If you think it was a mistake, say so in Discord; a person will read it.
No warranty
The client is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It may crash, a release may be broken, a module may behave differently than the last version did, and the server behind guilds and cloud settings may be down when you want it.
To the extent the law allows, nobody working on this is liable for anything that follows from running it: lost items, a lost world, a ban from a server, downtime, or any other loss. You run it because you want to, on your own machine and at your own risk. Keep backups of worlds you care about, the same as with any mod.
The service can change or stop
Features may be added, altered or removed, and the backend behind guilds and cloud settings may be taken down. The game itself does not depend on it: the client keeps working offline, with local settings, if the server is not there. Anything that would take a service away for good is announced first, in Telegram and Discord.
Reaching us
Anything about a payment, a refund or an account: the Discord or Telegram. Both are read by the people who run the client, not by a support desk, and both are the fastest way to get an answer.
Changes to these terms
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use the client after that is how you accept the new version — and if you do not, deleting your account and the jar is enough to be out of it entirely.
The other legal page is the privacy policy. Everything else is back on the front page.
